Castlereagh Lite Lites Second Ride Out.

October 06, 2014

The weather forecast was for rain today but who believes a forecast! It turned out to be chilly but otherwise perfect cycling conditions. With 12 riders (Red leader - Roy, a guest appearance from Hamster, yours truly, Dee, Brian, Ian, Sharon, Michael - with his new bike! , Mathew, Ben and our two newest riders, Mark and Cameron) we were in for a busy day!

We decided to stick to the same destination (Comber) but this time we kept to the roads and left the greenway to the dog walkers and Sunday ramblers. A good decision and great practice for those in the group who are less experienced. With a cross wind it was tough enough but everyone made it to Comber in good time. Yet again the team at Sugarcane did a brilliant job of fitting us all in ( they really do work well under pressure and seem to take it all in their stride). Refuelled, (well Ian was after his a Full Fry!) we set off for home. The team seemed to find its natural pace and kept everyone together for most of the way home. As we hit the final mile the youth team members started to put Red leader under pressure - more spin required Roy!!

All back to Forestside by 12.30 and luckily Attridge & Cole opened early so we enjoyed a well deserved flat white while we did the debrief :) All being well we will be back out again on Sunday 2nd Nov, then again every first Sunday of the month.

Hopefully the Castlereagh Lites and Full Fat teams had just as much luck with the weather today!

Another great day on the bikes. A few wee hills this time but sure it was great fun. All fed and watered at Sugar Cane and back to Forestside for another coffee. There's definitely a theme here! Looking forward to the next outing.

When's the next ride out for the lites?

Next ride out is Sunday 2nd November and the first Sunday of every month.

Fantastic to see, keep up the good work.
