Castlereagh Cycling Club/Team Forestside ride out.
With Colin off on "Giro Marshall" training it was left to Ian and Brian to pull us round a superb route today.
So along with Pat McConvey ( in full McConvey team kit!) Mark, Trudi and Danny Magee (on loan from Phoenix and recuperating from surgery) and myself we set off in pretty good weather. We headed up the Saintfield Rd to Carryduff then over to Comber. We climbed up past Scrabo - great views today - then dropped past Ards and on to Millisle (I think). We then hit the coast and lunch stop at Cafe Manor (Donaghadee). I have to say the Catlereagh boys know where all the good stops are. We haven't had a bad one yet!
Then we set off again along the coast heading for Bangor. Ian and Brian then decided we needed a little more of a challenge and so took us over the Craigantlets! As they say - what goes up must come down and in a train we slip streamed big Ian at 46 mph! :) Once we emerged at Knock it was a straight run for Forestside.
Excellent run today and probably the best cycling weather yet this year. Long may it last or at least until after May 11th (Giro weekend).
