Mayor’s Award for Volunteering 2014
Last chance to vote for the unsung hero within your community. Closing date for nominations is Friday 11th April.
Do you know someone who gives up their time to help others, without looking for recognition or reward? Those who are willing to go the extra mile to help their friends, neighbours and communities deserve a big ‘thank you’, and that’s why the Mayor’s Awards for Volunteering is asking for your nominations. The Mayor’s Awards for Volunteering was established in 2012 by Castlereagh Borough Council and this year, in partnership with Volunteer Now and the South Eastern Education and Library Board, we are hoping for a big increase in nominations.
Not only will you get the ‘feel good factor’ from nominating someone, you’ll also have a chance to attend a glittering awards ceremony later this year and celebrate with the worthy winners.
The 2014 Awards will recognise individuals and groups under the following categories:
Unsung Hero
Long Service Commitment
Bringing Communities Together
Volunteer Team of the Year
Best Newcomer
Best Neighbour
Nominations may be submitted for recognition under any of the six award categories and are invited from members of the public, including representatives from community, voluntary and statutory organisations.
Nominations must be made in writing using the scheme nomination form, which is available from castlereagh.gov.uk/communityservices or click http://www.castlereaghcommunity.co.uk/2014/03/1958/
Alternatively you can contact Community Services on 028 9049 4500 or email communityservices@castlereagh.gov.uk and we will send you a nomination form.
Closing date for completed nominations is 4pm Friday 11 April 2014, so don’t delay, nominate your local volunteering star today!
