Believe it or not Forestside is 15 years old this year and we will be celebrating in style!

Our anniversary falls on September 15th and we have a whole weekend of fabulous Forestside activities planned for the mall. But no celebration is complete without a birthday cake…and this is where we need your help. We are looking for a star baker to produce a wonderful cake fitting for the occasion and Forestside related, of course. We will provide £100 gift card for the person selected to produce the cake but it’s also a great opportunity for anyone with or launching a baking business to raise your profile quite considerably.

Firstly, we are asking you to send us your idea/design along with a basic recipe…don’t worry if your recipe contains top secret ingredients, we won’t ask you to divulge your secret! We will select the top entries to produce a small scale cake for us to taste and judge and then the winner will be asked to bake and decorate the cake for the occasion. It needs to be big enough for around 50 people to taste but we know just how talented many of our customers are so we know it won’t be a problem for some of you. Perhaps you have a fledgling cupcake business that would benefit from the publicity or just love to bake for your family and friends. Either way, we’d love to hear from you if you think you are up to the challenge. The search launches on Thursday 1st August and we need your preliminary ideas and designs by Thursday August 15th. We will then ask the top contenders to bake the cake on a small scale by the 23rd and the successful baker will be informed on the 24th. This will give them three weeks to complete the full sized cake prior to the celebration. Good luck everybody.
