The best of Benefit skincare.

January 14, 2014

There is no doubt that Benefit make up and skincare have produced some absolute star products and there is no brighter star than ‘Porefessional’. The silky smooth primer that is pure velvet on the skin, is now Britain’s Number one selling primer. The velvet feel stays with you all day and the pore minimising effect is noticeable right from first use and it makes a substantial difference to the staying power and the amount of foundation you actually get through. It makes ‘Hello Flawless’ live longer both on the face and in your wallet.

Another gem is ‘Total Moisture’ Facial Cream. This one is not for everyone – I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with oily or acne prone skin as it is just so rich. Benefit’s eye cream is called ‘It’s Potent!’ and this is certainly true but I would say exactly the same thing about ‘Total Moisture’. It is thick and can be sticky if too much is applied but for a forty something like me with ultra thirsty skin it’s a godsend!

I have become a huge fan of ‘Total Moisture’ along with ‘It’s Potent!’ eye cream as the moisture quenches my skin and the eye cream fades dark circles. It claims to give brighter, younger looking eyes. I wouldn’t swear by this but I can say that my fine lines appear reduced and my eyes look more perky simply because they are properly hydrated.

For me, Benefit has certainly earned it’s place amongst the big guns of premium brand make up and skincare but it is much more reasonably priced than some and it’s querky marketing makes it appealing to the younger market but not exclusively so. It has many gorgeous products which are perfect for mature skin and great advice from the Benefit girls at Medicare. Definitely on my Christmas wishlist!
